About
Presented as part of the Graphic Design Festival of Échirolles, the exhibition brought together some of the most prominent graphic designers from South America and Europe. This juxtaposition highlighted both the shared concerns and distinct visual languages that emerge from different political and social contexts, revealing how globalization has increasingly converged the issues addressed by contemporary graphic design.
Conceived as a project of dialogue and confrontation, the exhibition fostered encounters between graphic artists from diverse cultural backgrounds. The scenographic approach sought to reveal the richness and diversity of these perspectives through a spatial composition structured around a sequence of chromatic atmospheres.
Guided by a commitment to efficiency and clarity, the display elements were designed as restrained and rational interventions that fully embraced the qualities of the existing venue. Exhibition walls were connected beneath a backlit stretched ceiling, creating a soft and diffuse illumination that contrasted with the raw materiality of the industrial space. As graphic design itself formed the core subject of the exhibition, interpretation panels adopted a clear and understated visual language, serving as effective tools for mediation and engagement.
An immersive sequence punctuated the visitor journey through a “magic box” dedicated to photographs taken by the curator around the world. Offering a moment of visual and narrative pause, this installation introduced a more sensitive and contemplative dimension within the exhibition experience.
